A visitor to the Bell sketches a bouquet of flowers Recommended for all ages

Art and ecology are powerful tools for exploring the world around us! See how they can unite as you meet scientists and artists working together to restore Minnesota’s prairies and native pollinators. See a short film about the endangered Dakota skipper butterfly, paint with plant pigments, and help ecologists prepare native prairie seeds for planting! Be sure to stop by the exhibition Moments of Memory: Minnesota Landscapes Painted from Life to explore how art and science come together in outdoor painting.

Spotlight Science is a regular program connecting you to current science conducted at the University of Minnesota and in our community. Join researchers, students, and special guests for conversations and unique interactive experiences.
