Petri Dish: Our Ever-Evolving Diet
Wednesday | December 12, 2018 | 7:00 pm–9:00 pm
$8 – $10Event Navigation
New diets pop up with predictable regularity, grabbing hold of the collective imagination and resulting in the ritual purging of suddenly suspect foods. High-fat, low-fat, low-carb, the variations are numerous as are the claims that a particular diet is best. Sorting fact from fiction when it comes to the right way to eat can be challenging. But was there a time when we had a perfect diet? Is there a place where people eat ideally? There are myriad diets claiming they have answers to exactly these questions.
Join us this fall for a special Petri Dish series, exploring topics relating to food in conjunction with the museum’s Our Global Kitchen exhibit. Our expert panel will explore what science has to say about the role of evolution, the causes of the obesity epidemic and much more.
