Whether you’re sketching, photographing, painting, or coloring, let lunar-inspiration be your guide as you curate your evening from a host of activities, including a show in the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium, a Moon tour, or a special writing workshop.

Activities free with gallery admission. Planetarium ticket fees apply.

Special Guest: Erin Sharkey

7 pm

Erin SharkeyBell Museum resident artist and poet Erin Sharkey will lead an open writing workshop to reflect on experiences on Earth’s Moon and nature at night.

Participants will leave with a new piece of writing and a reminder to look up. The workshop is open to all, no experience necessary. Bring your writing implement of choice.

Erin is a poet, essayist, producer, educator, and community organizer who spent a decade working on an urban farm. She is using her Bell residency to explore a new “Farmer’s Almanac” for the modern urban farmer. In addition, Erin’s ongoing research into unpublished WPA-sponsored narratives by ex-slaves is inspiring new works that imagine community vegetable gardens as locations of autonomy and connection to nature and culture.
