Spotlight Science: Something About Birds!

Saturday | May 18, 2024 | 10:00 am2:00 pm

Recommended for all ages

What makes birds so fascinating? Join scientists, artists, and local birdwatchers to explore how birds capture our imaginations and shape our understanding of the world around us. Use real bird tracking equipment and learn how to find and protect birds in your neighborhood, discover the science behind caring for farm birds with poultry experts, and join a drawing lesson to see what modern birds can teach us about dinosaurs!

Learn more about how birds and humans connect during Story Time with “How the Birds Got Their Songs”, an English and Ojibwe story read by author Travis Zimmerman at 12:45pm and 1:30pm.

Spotlight Science is a regular program connecting you to current science conducted at the University of Minnesota and in our community. Join researchers, students, and special guests for conversations and unique interactive experiences.

This is an in-person event at the Bell Museum. Activities and events will be held throughout the museum and are included in the cost of regular admission.
