Bell Museum Expectations

The Bell Museum is dedicated to providing a safe, respectful, and inspiring environment for everyone. To ensure a positive experience for all, we require that visitors, volunteers, and staff follow these guidelines:

Our Expectations

  • Treat others with kindness: We are a community of learners. Engage with fellow visitors, volunteers, and staff with courtesy and care.
  • Be respectful: Hostile, discriminatory, or harassing language and behavior have no place at the Bell and will not be tolerated.
  • Exercise care: Be considerate of museum property and the experiences of those around you.

UMN Policies & Safety

As part of the University of Minnesota, all visitors must comply with campus policies regarding discrimination, sexual harassment, weapons and smoke-free environments, as well as campus policy about the distribution of information through publications, signs or other means.

The Bell reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any individual whose conduct we determine endangers others, damages property, or interferes with the ability of visitors, volunteers and staff to enjoy, learn, or work at the museum. We reserve the right to involve law enforcement, change membership status, or take other steps as needed.

How to Get Help

If you observe or experience any behavior that makes you feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it to a Bell Museum staff member immediately. We ask that you let our team handle the situation rather than taking personal action.
