Bell Summer Camps in Lamberton

Bell Summer Camps are fun and enriching day-long experiences that encourage children to explore their scientific passions and discover new interests. Children entering grades 1-5 will experience science and nature like never before with interactive discovery, games, creative projects, guided outdoor exploration and much more! Camps in Lamberton are located at the University of Minnesota’s Southwest Research and Outreach Center. Lunch and snacks are included each day at each camp.

Pay for camps by following the instructions within the registration form. Your registration is not complete until payment has been received. Day camps in Lamberton are a pilot program, and are at this time offered at a reduced fee of $25 for all participants!

  • Prairie Detectives: Soil, Science, and Small Creatures
    One-day camp, grades 3-5

    Step into Minnesota’s native prairie and see how it benefits the farmland around us! Discover how deep-rooted prairie plants help build healthy soil, how pollinators are essential for a crop, and how insects and plants work together in this balanced ecosystem. Get hands-on with soil exploration, sweep netting, and field tools to observe the creatures that sustain a living prairie. Strengthen your science skills while uncovering the hidden life that supports farms and fields across our state.

    Snacks and lunch will be provided. This year we will explore new activities and bring back some favorites.

  • From Soil to Supper: Agricultural Farm Science
    One-day camp, grades 1-5

    Dig into the science and technology of farming! Join us at the Southwest Research and Outreach Center (SWROC) in Lamberton to explore how soil, water, plants, and animals all work together to grow the food we eat. Meet real researchers and see science in action — from the roots beneath the ground to the pollinators in the fields. We’ll get our hands dirty studying bugs and plants, play fun games, and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the research farm.  

    Snacks and lunch will be provided. This year we’ll try new activities and bring back some favorites.

    $25 per day of camp
