Preparations/Directions

There are three versions of this activity. You may choose to do one or as many as you wish.

Version 1: Print out a landscape sheet and color the skyline and the night sky. You may draw constellations, color in auroras, stars, planets, or anything that reminds you of the beauty of the night sky. Please share your images and tag @BellMuseum on social media!

Version 2: Print out a landscape sheet, cut out the skyline, and glue/tape it onto a sheet of dark-colored construction paper. Then, color or draw the night sky with chalk, pastels, or light colored crayons. You may draw constellations, color in auroras, stars, planets, or anything that reminds of you of the beauty of the night sky. Please share your images and tag @BellMuseum on social media!

Version 3: Cut a 3×5 (or a ¼ sheet) rectangle from a sheet of dark construction paper. Color or draw any night sky scene (without the landscape). You may draw constellations, color in auroras, stars, planets, or anything that reminds of you of the beauty of the night sky. Once you finish, mail in the piece to the Bell Museum so that we may add it to our community mosaic of the night sky. Please include your name, email address, and your city or location on the back of the paper.
Send to Bell Museum, Attn: Night Sky Mural; 2088 Larpenteur Ave W; Saint Paul, MN 55113.

We will display our community mosaic mural during Space Fest in early February 2021, and will share photos with you! Please note that we will not be able to return any original images.
