November Star Party: Moon & Beyond
Friday | November 08, 2019 | 7:30 pm–9:00 pm
November’s Star Party will be part of our Statewide Star Party, which runs November 8–11 and includes events around Minnesota.
Star Party admission is free, $5 donation requested
Explore the sky with the Bell Museum. FREE telescope observing nights take place monthly during the University’s Fall and Spring semesters. These are very informal and family-friendly. Events will take place rain or shine. In the case of poor weather, indoor activities will be planned in place of telescope observing.
Start the night inside the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium for a brief presentation of Fall Sky Tonight, with special Transit of Mercury content. After the planetarium show, the evening will continue with telescopes on our rooftop observation deck. Bell Museum staff will guide you through observations of the same celestial objects that have inspired sky-gazers throughout history!
The evening continues outside with telescopes on the Ruth & John Huss Observation Deck. Our astronomy team will guide you through observations of the same celestial objects that have inspired sky-gazers throughout history!
Remember to dress for the weather! The event takes place rain or shine. In the case of extreme or poor weather, indoor activities will be planned in place of telescope observing.
Note: Bell Museum galleries are not open during Star Parties.

And there’s more! On Monday, November 11, the Bell will host a viewing event for the Transit of Mercury. More info and signup link here.
