Spotlight Science: Minnesota Fish & Recreation

Spotlight Science is a regular program connecting you to current research at the University of Minnesota and giving you the chance to meet the scientists and students who make the projects possible. Join us for special conversations and unique interactive experiences.
In the land of 10,000 lakes, there is no shortage of waters to explore and fish! Join us for a day of learning more about Minnesota fish, how to keep fish and fish habitats vibrant and healthy, and even pick up some tips on how to enjoy fishing throughout the state.
Connect with the Minnesota DNR Fisheries team in Horizon Hall to learn how they monitor fish health and diagnose diseases. Meet outreach specialists from the Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center in Collections Cove who will test your knowledge of aquatic invasive species, big and small. Practice how to prevent invasive species from hitchhiking on your fishing gear, and stop by the Hive Classroom to craft a fish in the style of Japanese koinobori.
This is an in-person event at the Bell Museum. Activities and events will be held throughout the museum and are included in the cost of regular admission.
