Bell After Hours

Monday | September 17, 2018 , 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Come join us at the Bell for one evening a month. Curate your own experience from a host of activities: explore the Minnesota Journey exhibit, sketch unusual and unique museum specimens in a one of a kind setting, enjoy the evening skies and look through a telescope* on the Ruth and John Huss Observation Deck, and experience a planetarium show or a lecture.

For Monday, September 17th, the sketching theme is birds. As we head into migration season we will focus on birds with a selection of taxidermy mounts, wings, feathers, nests and eggs.  And maybe a few hundred geese outside our windows overlooking the agricultural fields.

In the Hive Classroom: Resident artist Chris Lutter-Gardella will host a final onsite “community build” before the spectacular October debut of his giant “Star Man” marionette.

Added shows in the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium will be offered at

  • 5:15 pm  No Limits!
  • 6:30 pm  Minnesota in the Cosmos
  • 7:45pm  No Limits!

All activities are free with gallery admission. Normal planetarium show ticket fees apply.

*In the case of inclement weather, observing will be canceled.
