Nightscape Photography Workshop with Mike Shaw

Wednesday | January 13, 2021 | 7:00 pm9:00 pm

$30 – $40

Ages 11+

Wondering how to get started in night sky photography? Join us for an online, entry-level workshop on nighttime landscape photography with Bell Museum resident artist Mike Shaw. Shaw will share his work, tips for getting outside to capture images where you live with the equipment you have, and ideas for how to build your nightscape photography practice. Topics will include setting up your gear, recommended camera settings, focusing and composing shots in the dark, and planning your nighttime landscape photography sessions. Night sky subjects will include the Milky Way, the Moon, constellations, aurora borealis, and more!

To put what you learn in this workshop into practice, you will need a camera with manual focus and manual exposure capabilities, as well as a tripod. Though Shaw recommends a DSLR or other mirrorless camera, even some cell phones can work. This workshop is a great way to learn about what you can do with the equipment you have and what other options are available. Register on Eventbrite.
