About the speakers
Kristie Reddick and Jessica Honaker are the Bug Chicks, entomologists and educators who teach about the incredible world of insects, spiders, and their relatives. They specialize in interdisciplinary STEM and their programs foreground social-emotional learning concepts such as growth mindset, empathy, bravery and positive self-talk.
This event is presented in conjunction with Bugs: Outside the Box on view at the Bell through September 11. This exhibition features a selection of greatly enlarged insect sculptures, each showcasing the beauty hidden within the (mini)beasts of the natural world. Intricate details not visible to the naked eye are showcased alongside educational topics, including an exciting look at museum collections and taxonomy, and an exploration of the power of magnification.
