Also, learn how to create suminagashi marbled paper, a simple technique for creating paper with a rippled pattern. You can also curate your evening from a host of activities, including special shows in the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium and stargazing with telescopes on the Ruth and John Huss Observation Deck (weather permitting).
Most activities are free with gallery admission. Normal planetarium ticket fees apply.
Planetarium: Water on Other Worlds
Shows at 6:00 & 7:00pm. Tickets on sale Feb 27!
One night only! Take a live tour of the cosmos to learn about the various types of water on other planets as well as the evidence we have for water that used to be there.
Special Guest: Water Bar
Experience the Water Bar pop-up and sample waters from around our community while engaging in lively conversation about our impacts on water, and water’s impact on us.
Water Bar began as a public art project with a simple goal: Encourage people to slow down and consider their relationship with place and ecology through the everyday act of drinking tap water together. Since its inception in 2014 as the world’s first tap water only bar, Water Bar has traveled the country, partnered with dozens of organizations, established a storefront in Northeast Minneapolis, maintains a notable presence at the Minnesota State Fair (as shown below), and served water with a side of public engagement to tens of thousands of visitors.
