Donor Appreciation

To our friends and generous supporters,

We have welcomed over 110,000 people since opening the doors, sharing our passion for the natural world and the universe with them.  Additionally, nearly every show in the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium has sold out, meaning in our first year more than 90,000 people will have enjoyed an out-of-this-world immersive learning experience.

It is so heartening to see the number of multi-generational families enjoying the museum, and we are finding that the Bell really does offer something for everyone.

In all of this, we have stayed true to one of our most important principles—that we serve all Minnesotans. As such, we have introduced admissions and membership levels for families on public assistance, an American Sign Language experience in the planetarium, and low sensory Saturday programs. We are more committed than ever to being a place that welcomes and engages all.

This fall we were excited to see the buses line up at our Schulze Education Entrance—we’re expecting over 25,000 school children this year. Our ExploraDome traveling planetarium has been traveling the state; and will visit over 15,000 students at their schools across Minnesota.

As we enter 2019 the Bell will activate launch our Minnesota’s Astronomy Classroom initiative—that will provide a range of programs and engagement experiences including a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission.

Bottom line: The Bell is back and better than ever!

With much gratitude—and in hopes of seeing you soon—
